Gregory G. Curtin, PhD, JD, is the Founder & CEO of CivicConnect, a startup delivering the leading Smart Cities Data Management Platform and Mobile Augmented Reality (CivicAR). Dr. Curtin has been a pioneer in the use of leading edge technologies, data and the cloud to help transform the public sector. Having spent many years as a public school teacher, a professor at the University of Southern California and a municipal government attorney and consultant, Dr. Curtin brings deep knowledge and passion for the public sector to his vision for Smart Cities and digital governance. Dr. Curtin has been noted for his work with the World Economic Forum (WEF) and serves as a Charter Member of WEF’s Global Agenda Council on the Future of Government. During his 10-year tenure with the United Nations Global E-Government Readiness Survey and Report, Curtin served as the principal investigator and one of its senior contributors. He founded and directed the E-Governance Collaborative Program at the University of Southern California Bedrosian Center, and founded the peer-reviewed Journal of E-Government. Dr. Curtin writes and speaks widely on Smart Cities and digital government, including authoring early works in the field such as “The World of E-Government” and “Free the Data: E-Governance for Megaregions.”
