Director of Sales
AT&T Smart CitiesAs director of sales for AT&T's Smart Cities, Jori Mendel leads a global sales team charged with delivering smart cities solutions across the U.S. and Mexico. Jori is responsible for the overall strategy and management of key city accounts in over 300 cities, assisting them with the adoption and implementation of technology solutions that will help address key challenges in their communities.
Since joining the AT&T Smart Cities organization in 2016, Jori has worked closely with the company’s sustainability group to develop and implement a cohesive smart cities strategy to help AT&T reach its environmental goals and demonstrate the positive impact smart cities solutions can have on addressing issues around sustainability and resiliency.
She previously held the position of Strategic Alliance Manager for the Smart Cities organization. In this role, she worked to foster relationships with the public and private sectors and developed Go-to-Market sales strategies for the organization.
Prior to joining AT&T Smart Cities, Jori served as Director of Advertising for AT&T U-verse, where she was responsible for social media engagement, overseeing TV commercial development and managing the diversity advertising program. Previously, Jori led a team responsible for the development and execution of AT&T Digital Life’s marketing communications strategy throughout 82 U.S. markets and internationally. Areas of focus included advertising, segment marketing and public relations. While in this role, Jori and her team earned the “Best Consumer Mobile Service” award at the 19th annual Global Mobile Awards and the PRSA award for best launch PR campaign in 2013 for AT&T Digital Life.
Jori joined AT&T in 2011 as part of the Leadership Development Program, after completing her MBA, where she launched the now award winning SEER (Social Environmental Ethical Responsibility) program to allow fellow students to augment their degrees with an emphasis on doing good while doing business.
Before AT&T, Jori worked in Corporate Responsibility at Patagonia. She also worked in communications as a consultant for Scripps Health. Jori began her career in New York at Meredith Corporation’s Better Homes & Gardens magazine, and also worked at the boutique agency 5w Public Relations.
Passionate about driving change in her community, Jori actively participates as a board member of her NPU (Neighborhood Planning Unit) and the Atlanta Beltline, and is actively engaged with the Piedmont Park Conservancy and CHOA. She also loves travel, yoga, creating new experiences and spending time walking the Atlanta Beltline with her husband and puppy.
