Innovation Policy Advisor
City of Kansas City, MOKate Garman is the Innovation Analyst for the City of Kansas City, MO. She is the legal and policy analyst in the Office of Innovation, drafting ordinances and policy recommendations to foster a culture of innovation in Kansas City. In addition, Kate runs Kansas City's Innovation Partnership Program, a program in which startup companies pilot technology programs with Departments at City Hall. She recently graduated from the University of Missouri -- Kansas City School of Law, after concluding her year long role as Student Editor-in-Chief of The Urban Lawyer, the national ABA publication on state and local governance. Prior to her role as Innovation Analyst, she was a policy intern for Mayor James focusing on urban policy. And before entering law school, Kate was the Government Affairs Specialist at Black & Veatch.
