Team Lead - Global City team challenge hosted by National Institute of Standards &Testing   CTO – Dew Mobility, California, USA       Mr. Shivakumar Mathapathi has over 25 years of experience in product development, design and faculty. Mr. Mathapathi is a seasoned technologist and entrepreneur, instructor and practitioner on the Internet of Things (IoT) with extensive experience as lead faculty, lab-practice and mentorship in executing smart city, smart agriculture, assisted living and other IoT related projects. He has designed study programs and academic syllabus for “The IoT course” a Master’s curriculum (4 units) taught at Santa Clara University and California Polytechnic State University. He lead capstone design project at Cal Poly (Part of California State University) to design and develop IoT cloud platform. He is serving as advisory board member at the San Jose City Mayor’s visioning process for Civic Innovation in smart cities and Big Data Analytics. Mr. Mathapathi has contributed to build the ecosystem and establish innovation pathways for the OpenIoT project, a blueprint and awarded Open Source project in the Internet of Things sponsored by the European commission. He is focused on academic research and Innovation and he is involved in architecture design and development of smart city projects such as smart trash monitoring and smart trail traffic monitoring:  Designed for the City of San Luis Obispo. California.         He has volunteered and serving as advisory member at the San Jose City Mayor’s visioning process for Civic Innovation in smart cities and Big Data Analytics.   Shivakumar has contributed to Open IoT project in collobartion with National Institute of Ireland. The open IoT project is being sponsored by European commission. As part of academic research and Innovation, he is involved in architecture design and development of smart city projects such as smart trash monitoring and smart trail traffic monitoring:  designed for the City of San Luis Obispo.   Shivakumar is also a team leader for Global City team Challenge (GCTC) project hosted by the National Institute of Standardization and testing (NIST). GCTC team comprises of Sonoma State University Engineering Science Department, Center for Environmental Inquiry and local City staff.   He is currently serving as IoT technical Evangelist and Chief Technology officer for Dew Mobility, CA.  Shivakumar is the capstone Lecture at Leavey School of Business- Santa Clara University, mentoring Master of Science in Information system students for IoT projects. Shivakumar also a guest lecture for “The Internet of Things “Graduate course at School of Engineering for winter 2016 IoT course.
